Lewis Hamilton had a strong pace and a bit of luck to win again at home.

The pole position Bottas started well, maintained 1st position and carried out a beautiful battle with Hamilton in the first laps. The Englishman overtook to take the lead, but Bottas was aggressive and came back to the top. But between the stops in the pits of the two Mercedes drivers, the Italian Giovinazzi spun, stopped in the gravel and brought a Safety Car to the track. Luck for Hamilton, who stopped in yellow flag conditions and took the lead of the race and didn’t lose anymore. Charles Leclerc closed the podium.

The race was exciting, as it was not seen in Formula 1 for some time. The Leclerc and Verstappen battle, re-enacting the one they had in Austria, drew sighs from the English fans, with the Dutch attacking the young Ferrari driver several times. But in the end the controversy was with Sebastian Vettel, who in his own dispute with Max lost control of his Ferrari and collided with Red Bull ahead. Verstappen still recovered to finish 5th place, while the German was punished and finished only in 15th.

In the middle pack the fights didn’t disappoint either. Carlos Sainz made good use of the Safety Car period to gain positions and hold Daniel Ricciardo’s attacks in the final laps to reach 6th place. Raikkonen recovered well and with aggressive overtaking on Kvyat secured the 8th position, right in front of the Russian. Nico Hulkenberg recovered from a touch with Perez and problems at the end of the race to close the scoring positions.
