Kim Shattuck, lead singer and founder of the band Muffs, died on Wednesday (2) at age 56. A representative of the group confirmed a news story for the international press. A singer was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) about two years ago.

Throughout her career, Kim has also contributed to a Pixies band. The group shared a message mourning the singer’s death.
