Martin Scorsese will return to the music documentary genre in his next project, according to Variety. Through producer Imagine Entertainment, the director will explore New York’s music scene in the 1970s.
No more details revealed about the project, which is currently looking for a distributor. This is not the first time the director will talk about the time and place; Alongside Mick Jagger, Scorsese was one of the creators of Vinyl, an HBO series that focuses on a New York music producer in 1970.
The director, who today launches The Irishman on Netflix, has also worked on several music-focused productions such as The Last Music Concert, Shine a Light or No Direction Home. Still in 2019, the director directed the feature Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese for Netflix as well.
